It’s been a busy couple of weeks. Work has picked up, which is a good thing overall; but it’s also making it harder to find time for writing, which is a bad thing.
This morning is the first morning in a short while that there isn’t any work available immediately after logging in, so I’m taking the opportunity to get in a little wordwork. Spellcheck does not like the word “wordwork.” I’m sure they’re right, it should be two words, but I rather like them pushed together in a fashion similar to “woodwork.” Where woodwork/woodworking denotes the activity or skill of making things from wood, wordwork/wordworking seems an appropriate name for the activity or skill of making things from words. I suppose I could just say writing, but wordworking just sort of feels more accurate to the skill and craft of it all—well, and the work of it all too! ::shrug:: I don’t know. I like it. I’m keeping it. ::right-click > add to dictionary::
That wasn’t where I was originally going with today’s short journal post, but it is where it went. Sometimes I just give in to whichever way the brain flows… Okay, most times.
Beyond work itself, my brain these days is still really stuck on the gazillion things going on in the world around us. I’m still trying to find a place to write from that ignores all that for this blog. I’m not sure it’s possible. Actually, I’m not sure that ignoring it is the right approach at all. It’s creating quite the internal struggle…
Anyway, it’s Thursday and the traditional weekend is finally within sight. I hope you all have a good one, whatever a good weekend means to you and yours.
