Day Nineteen: What color describes your personality and why?
Oh, wow! I have no idea. Gray maybe? As in, millions of different shades of? I really don’t know. My favorite color though is purple, specifically a kind of dark, dusty, grayish plummy purple (and shades similar to it) like I have featured on my blog! 😉
Day Twenty: What irritates you about the home you live in?
The layout. Okay, the layout AND the location! (I actually discussed a little about the location in my journal post this morning: I Miss the Sun.) There is so much wasted space in this floorplan and absolutely not enough storage space (no closets at all!) anywhere in the main living areas. No place to hang coats or store cleaning supplies like the mop, broom, vacuum, carpet steamer, etc.
It has this weird useless room that I think is supposed to be a breakfast room, but if there were a table in it, it would block the flow from the laundry room entrance to the kitchen in a very inconvenient way. Because of how the house is situated, that’s the main door we have to carry all the groceries and packages and things through. It essentially becomes the drop zone for everything, since it serves no functional purpose at all for our lifestyle.
The dining room at the other side is equally ill-placed, though not quite as bad as the useless room. I don’t know… every single time I try to clean and organize I get an itch to start knocking down walls and reconfiguring the floor plan. It just doesn’t work well for us anymore and was originally going to be a temporary place to live. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned so far, it’s that nothing ever quite goes as planned….
