A Little Sunday Morning Ramble

A

I’m already feeling like I’m fighting a losing battle trying to catch up with Bloganuary. I got four days done yesterday (in two posts: Days 1 & 2 and Days 3 & 4). At some point today I hope to get days 5, 6, 7 & 8 done. We’ll see how it goes.

At the moment I am waiting for the load of laundry in the dryer to finish and for the memory diagnostic on the desktop pc to finish. A few months ago I upgraded the RAM and have been having random blue screen shutdown issues ever since. Ran a test at the recommendation of a friend and resolved that one of the sticks of RAM must be faulty. I didn’t have the patience to figure out which one, so I got a replacement set and swapped it in this morning. I’m running the diagnostic first this time, just in case. It will be awesome to not have my work time interrupted by random blue screen shutdowns!

I love my desktop pc. Though I did have it built-to-order with gaming in mind, I find I don’t get much time to use it for that. But it also doesn’t pitch a fit when I’m working with 50 browser tabs and using three different browsers and designing graphics and trying to do everything all at once either!

It’s also much more comfortable to work and write at than the laptop. It’s weird too though, since for the longest time I was sure that the portability and convenience of a laptop was the best thing in the world. Sometimes that 14-inch screen just isn’t enough real estate to do the things I want to do. It also doesn’t help that my vision is getting worse! Fonts are small on small screens. I’m really glad I finally broke down and got the desktop instead of relying solely on this little “ultrabook” for everything. It’s still useful, don’t get me wrong, and I still like it–just not for everything!

Anyway, it looks like it’s time to get started on the rest of today’s to-dos. I hope you’re having a pleasant and peaceful Sunday! 💜
