I reluctantly slid out of bed this morning after having only snoozed my alarm five times. I wasn’t really ready to start my day yet and was feeling quite unrefreshed. Despite how tired I was, I was definitely way more tired of it repeatedly waking me up every nine minutes! It wore me down. Alarm 1, sleeping in 0.
My favorite coffee mug didn’t make it into the dishwasher yesterday, so I pulled this lovely motivational mug out of the cabinet. Such optimism! It’s much too early for all that enthusiastic cheering on… though I did very much enjoy the cranberry-orange muffin the kids had set aside for me!
Got my day started (after feeding and letting out the dogs, of course) with today’s Bloganuary prompt. Now I’m just sipping my way through coffee #2 while waiting for work to drop into the database.
Yesterday wasn’t too bad. There was enough work available to max out my daily hours, which I always appreciate. As much as I would love if we could all live in a much less money-centric world, we simply don’t, and it’s a nice feeling being able to meet my financial obligations. I do wish there was a way to keep it from eating into time for other—much more creative—endeavors. Or to merge those two worlds. I guess that’s what I’m attempting to do, albeit very slowly and cautiously—merge them.
The weekend felt short, likely because I worked Saturday. Sunday into Monday brought a bit of that messy wintry mix of snow and sleet that no one ever enjoys. Though it did make it a good day for some tasty beef stew in the slow cooker with a small batch of homemade dinner rolls. 😋
And with that, it looks like work has dropped, so I’m going to switch into work mode.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and wish you a fabulous Tuesday! 💜
